Day 1 – Departure from Nairobi to Arusha by bus to arrive at East African Suites, where we will have some briefing on the climb before dinner. Bed and breakfast.

Day 2 – After breakfast, transfer to the gateway of Kilimanjaro National Park in Marangu. We will climb through rainforest for 3 or 4 hours as far as Mandara Hut (2,750m). Night

Day 3 – After a short hike, we leave the forest to enter the land leading to Horombo Hut (3.700 m). It is a 15k- hike which will take us between 5 and 7 hours to cover.

Day 4 – a hard 13km-hike towards Kibo hut (4,700m). 7 or 8 hours climbing through the pass between Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. Night at Kibo Hut.

Day – 5 Very early in the morning we will start our climb, there will be frequent stops to rest. This is the most demanding and steepest stretch of the climb. We will reach Gillman’s Point (5.681m) to see the sun rising behind Mawenzi. After hiking around the crater, we will reach Uhuru peak at 5895m (highest summit in Africa). This will take between 7 and 8 hours. Descent to Horombo hut will take between 4 and 7 hours (3,750m).

Day 6 – Easy descent to Marungu (between 5 and 7 hours) to reach East African Suites. Dinner and night.

Day 7 – After breakfast we will continue either with a safari, an extension to the beach or will depart to Nairobi to take our return flight to our destination.
