15 days of intense feelings and unforgettable experiences. This is a complete Safari through the most emblematic parts of Kenya and Tanzania.
Day 1 – FLIGHT TO NAIROBI
Assistance at Jomo Kenyatta airport and transfer to hotel. Night.
Day 2 – NAIROBI – LAKE NAKURU
From Nairobi we will be heading for Lake Nakuru in the heart of the Rift Valley, going down the steep high lands towards the lowlands, where we will be staying at a beautiful lodge looking on to the Lake. Its waters look pink due to the great number of Flamingos living in their shores and which make it world famous. However, there are many other animals including White Rhinos, Lions and Leopards.
Day 3 – LAKE NAKURU – LAKE NAIVASHA
Lake Naivasha is one of the most beautiful lakes in Kenya. We will be staying at a wonderful English colonial style hotel and we will take a boat to Crescent island, where we will go on a walking Safari surrounded by dozens of animals.
Day 4 – LAKE NAIVASHA – MASAI MARA
Departure for Masai Mara, considered by many the best wildlife Reserve in the world. Over a million and a half animals, mainly herbivores as well as all sort of predators and scavengers, move freely along its hills and great prairies drawn by their good pastures and abundant water. It is right hear and in the adjoining Serengeti where the magnificent migration of Wildebeests, Zebras and Gazelles takes place every year. We will be staying either at a tented camp or a lodge in the heart of the grassy plains depending on the animals’ movements.
Day 5 – MASAI MARA
Game drive. Visit to a Masai Manyatta or a hot air balloon Safari flight.
Day 6 – MASAI MARA – NAIROBI
Return to Nairobi for lunch. Visit to Karen Blixen’s (Out of Africa) museum located close to the Ngong mountains. Lunch at world famous Carnivore restaurant, a great way to round off a transition day before going south.
Day 7 – NAIROBI – AMBOSELI
Departure after breakfast towards Amboseli National Park, which has as its backdrop the towering Kilimanjaro and an almost deserted plain, where surprisingly underwater flows and which provides animals and birds with life. We will be staying at a wonderful lodge built on the same site in which Hemingway camped on one of his hunting safaris and wrote his book Snows of Kilimanjaro.
Day 8 – AMBOSELI
Game drive in the park enjoying the landscape and animal sightings. Here the Elephant is the ruler.
Day 9 – AMBOSELI – TARANGIRE
Departure to Tanzania. Stop at Namanga for border procedures and we will continue our way to Arusha. Light lunch and arrival at the Tarangire National Park, which is well known for its Baobabs and Elephant herds.
Day 10 – TARANGIRE – SERENGETI
Departure towards Serengeti Wildlife Park. We will drive through small farming communities like Mto Wa Mbu and Karatu. Later on and driving through the Ngorongoro area, we will be getting into the huge grassy plains of the park, which is the sanctuary for a great number of animals. Optional visit to a Mayatta (typical Masai house).
Day 11 – SERENGETI
Whole day devoted to the search of fauna through the immense savanna. At dusk we will enjoy the wonderful sunset. Balloon safari (optional).
Day 12 – SERENGETI – NGORONGORO
Breakfast and departure towards the Ngorongoro Crater. The views from the lodge located on the edge of the crater are breathtaking. Night.
Day 13 – NGORONGORO
World Heritage site, it is an extinct volcano with walls of about 600m and 21 km in diameter. Typical savanna landscape with acacia trees and a lake full of flamingos. Packed lunch and at the end of the safari we will walk up to the lodge to enjoy the view from the rooftop.
Day 14 – NGORONGORO – LAKE MANYARA
Easy journey to our camp in Manyara. In the afternoon we will visit the Lake, where there are outstanding topical tree species which are typical of the savanna. Likewise, we will be watching different animal and if we are lucky spot the famous Tree Lions.
Day 15 – MANYARA – ARUSHA – NAIROBI
After these wonderful days, we will go back to the civilised world. Bus to Arusha – Nairobi airport and end of our Safari. Flight to your destination.
